Space Folder Examples

Ambiguous Painting:
I had a hard time finding examples of this category, only because the 2D//3D aspect confused me a little bit. The last picture I found of the girls was my favorite. It's well detailed, has depth and wonderful color. I also enjoyed the blue "mid-Town" tunnel painting. It's quirky and interesting and I thought it fit the ambiguous category well.

Illusion 3D Art:
I knew exactly what I was going to post when i came upon this example. Edgar Mueller is a well know street graffiti artist, whose work is AMAZING. He does many more paintings on streets that look so real! Definitely an illusion. I found the others as well, just to be equilly illusionistic and cool.

Flat Art:
The flat art category definitly reminds me of commic or cartoon art. However i was able to find other paintings that went with this category. I really liked the interesting blue and red painting! The different shapes and supposed "people" are interesting and cool!

Objects:
I need to buy a cone shape still!

Gesture & Contour Drawing

Gesture drawing is a challenge for me! I have trouble with not looking down at my sketch pad too much. So hopefully through out this class I'll get better at that technique. I also have a hard time drawing people's bodies in the first place. Below are my contour drawings. I had a vase, apple and single key all placed on a table. I still haven't received my text book, since i got it off of amazon so I did my best without seeing examples. I do like to add detail and shading to make the drawing look more real-life though.

I also experimented with fruit and a flower, I liked these ones better:

Field Drawings

I experimented with the charcoal first, which as I have stated is my favorite medium to use.  I love how easy it is to do shading with charcoal and find it easier to move and glide it on paper. Then I took out my graphite pencils and used the 4B 6B and 8B. I like using graphite pencils as well, since there is a variety of sizes which help with control. The last one was with fine point pen. I don't find working with pen very fun, it's more complicated to me.

Simple Self Portrait

I decided to use pencil for my self portrait. I could have gone deeper into detail and shading, but i wanted to keep it simple. I'm not too crazy about it, but I haven't drawn in a while so I'm getting back into the swing of things I suppose. I had the most trouble with getting my eyes just right, because I was drawing my face at a slight angle. An other self portrait I did was with acrylic paint, because I love "splatter" painting. It was just a way I like to express myself.

Banksy

I absolutely LOVE Banksy Art. Any street art is great, however how Banksy portrays his art on the streets is by far my favorite. I think its great how we can make any kind of statement with our art skills. I would love to use stencils at some point, however they seem very difficult to me.

Though I don't do this type of art, it definitely inspires me to keep going with my own art. I love painting with acrylic paint, but my favorite mediums to use are pencils or charcoal.

This photo is a Lily drawn with charcoal. I like using charcoal, because I find it easy to shade and bring out certain details of the object being drawn. For me, it's easier to get a more in-depth perception in a drawing using charcoal.
